Kondoa

 

Kondoa Irangi Rock Paintings are located between Arusha and Dodoma on the great north road. If you would like to know how man existed before 30,000 years then these are the paintings which can explain you. Some of the Kondoa Irangi Rock Paintings date back to 30,000 years, in these paintings you can see a wide variety of hunting tools, custom, tradition, culture and hunting weaponry of the pre historic people. These paintings are drawn in red pigment and they depict silhouette and streaky drawings. These paintings depict various animals and the pattern used to hunt them. A women with the name of Mary documented these sites and published the art of Kondoa Irangi Rock Paintings in the late 1950`s or so, thus it came to light about the various paintings and their significance.
