Mount Meru

Mount Meru is located at the center of Arusha national park. This is an active volcano and has erupted during the last century. This volcanic ash has created fertile slops and rich farm land. It`s last eruption was seen a century ago. It stands at a height of 4,566 meters and is just 70 kilometers from Mount Kilimanjaro. This mount is surrounded by Savanna which supports 400 species of birds and various kinds of animals. Tanzania national flag is located at the top of the crater. This mount offers a breathtaking view and its close proximity to Mount Kilimanjaro makes it an important tourist destination.
